'Westworld"s' Ed Harris In the season 4 premiere of 'Westworld,' Ed Harris reprises his role as William (or is it robo-William?) | HBO provided the image. Despite William's threats, the man refuses and returns home to find a swarm of buzzing flies in his walk-in closet. I believe I've seen this movie before, and I don't think he'll like the ending. He wakes up in a daze, walks into the office, and stabs his coworkers to death, ostensibly not of his own volition. He then approaches William and hands over the world's thinnest iPad, which presumably contains what William was looking for. He asks if his work is finished, and William says yes, he can now rest, and the guy walks away while slitting his own throat. WOWZA. That's just the first ten minutes.

Westworld by HBO is one of those shows that is just right for the world of Reddit. For every question raised in a Westworld episode, there is a Reddit theory that has already addressed the issue. However, Episode 5 of Westworld may have provided the most compelling reason to believe the Reddit theory that the Man in Black (Ed Harris) was once William (Jimmi Simpson).

Humans will perish in the battle, but will be resurrected in host bodies as "a new species born through the posthumans William and Arnold, who are effectively immortal, self-aware, and fully conscious/awakened." To some extent, this could help the series' exploration of the journey of consciousness come full circle, but it's a lot to plan out so far in advance, especially since Dolores sacrificed her life to stop Solomon. Christina is unaware that she is in fact controlling everyone around her.

Bernard (Jeffrey Wright) and Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) are sitting in a diagnostic facility in the first episode. Bernard describes a recent dream in which he was on the ocean and she and the other hosts were on a distant shore. They had abandoned him, and the waters were rising around him. Dolores inquires about the meaning of his dream, and they discuss what is and isn't real. Bernard, who admires her growing perceptiveness, is concerned about what she might become. Of course, this is the crux of Westworld: What do we evolve into? What happens to humanity when people are placed in a theme park with almost no rules? What happens to their robot hosts when they begin to realize, through programming or learning, what is happening to them? No one knows until they enter Westworld.

After the credits, we see Evan Rachel Wood waking up in bed, looking eerily similar to when we first met her as sweet ol' Dolores in season 1. But she's not Dolores; she's Christina, whom Wood recently described to Entertainment Weekly as "a loner nerdy kind of writer just trying to make it in the big city." After getting ready for the day, her roommate (Ariana DeBose) asks for advice on which shoes to wear to a later event: white or black? "Pick a side, Chrissy," Christina's roommate says when she says either pair would look great. She gives a quick nod to the white pair. (That appears to be foreshadowing, a callback, or both.) So, one might reasonably ask, "Why does this have to be a man-on-woman rape scene?" Why not try something different? Sure, the writers could have created another horror. But if they're going to have a young female host protagonist who's in a theme park where humans fulfill their darkest desires and they want to dramatize how she's abused over and over again, this is the type of violence she'll face. Avoiding that depiction may be detrimental to the character and the world being depicted.

Near the end of the episode, Bernard, who appears to be struggling after leaving the park, convinces a local boat owner to take him back to Westworld. Bernard pulls out a map to show the nice man exactly where he needs to go, and for a split second we see where he's pointing. One thing is clear from the map: Bernard is pointing somewhere in the South China Sea. More specifically, it appears that he is referring to an actual island chain in the region known as the Spratly Islands. These small remote islands are controlled by China, which fits with the information we already have about the park's location.

The "damaged" part is more complicated, and we won't be able to fully understand it until later in the season. While he is a damaged version of Arnold simply because he is a Host, he is not physically damaged, as he defends himself during a confrontation at the plant with the instantaneous martial arts powers of a newly activated sleeper agent. Elsie and Stubbs venture into the hills in search of a missing host. Teddy is given a new backstory, prompting him to pursue a new villain, leaving Dolores alone in Sweetwater. Bernard looks into the causes of the hosts' insanity and hallucinations. When William discovers an attraction he wants to pursue, he drags Logan along for the ride. Neil Marshall directed the film.

Rather than being based on a single personality or consciousness, Redditor Mggl2019 believes "Christina is a combination of Clementine and Maeve." Both Maeve and Clementine have shown the ability to control other hosts in some of their most iconic scenes. Christina may be able to control hosts, as evidenced by her videogame narratives in which she controls people's lives and convinces them to leave the mental hospital with a muttered verbal command in the second episode. Christina's blue dress could be a hint that she is based on Clementine. The dynamic between Christina and her roommate is also similar, with the two of them discussing similar topics like nightmares and dating advice as they did in season 1.

Halores, according to TheDaysKing, "wants to rule over everything Not just the Earth, but all of reality. Even the fictitious ones." This would include all major systems seen in the series, such as The Sublime, Rehoboam, The Forge, Solomon, and any future systems. Unifying them into a single system for karmic retribution would be difficult, and it's unclear from her character development what the endgame goal would be, other than to establish herself as the type of sci-fi villain who was correct all along.
