The additional square feet and storage compartments are ideal for storing both little and big items. There are several inside connection spots for hanging lights, clothing, and gear lofts. Several of our tents have vestibules to provide additional living or storage space. Back exits and partitions that are simple to open provide rapid access to the outside. The flexibility to use this tent without the rainfly is a significant improvement over the previous model. This adds a whole new application to the Wawona. And while this tent shouts family, the opportunity to pitch it in the garden or avoid the trouble of the rainfly if you arrive at camp at midnight cannot be stressed enough. Since we purchased this tent a year ago, it has been on several camping excursions. Despite the inside seeming to be flimsy, it has held up quite well. There has been strong wind and rain. It did not leak or let any moisture to get through and performed well in the wind. Our last tent was demolished in less than two hours by winds of 70+ mph. This tent has performed well so far, but it has not yet seen winds of such magnitude. Possibly this year though. Once you get the hang of building the tent two people can get it up in approximately 5 minutes.
As highlighted by previous reviews, condensation may be a problem. It is then a matter of opening a zip for ventilation and letting some cold air in, which, with practice, works fine.In the past two years, the sponge dividers between the tent and the fly have decomposed and the ground sheet has lost all watertightness, but what would you expect after this much time?

How to insulate a tent for winter campingMany of our tents are certified for camping in extreme weather, but staying warm in a tent requires planning. You need insulation that will trap as much air in the tent as possible. Insulation may be applied to the outside or inside of the tent. Foam is excellent for floor insulation (remember to go a little ways up the walls as well). Lastly, be sure to insulate yourself! Get a sleeping bag designed for cold weather, bring a super-warm fleece, and avoid sleeping on an elevated camp bed.
