Look for packages that use bypass shocks or coil-overs for the best off-road performance.

If not, the Buyers Guide will inform you of the most critical points to consider when purchasing a Renegade lift kit. Do you still have questions? Please leave your questions in the comments! Ranchos' new 2.5 Inch Sport Lift Kit is ideal for Jeep Wrangler TJ or Unlimited LJ owners who wish to install 33x12.50 tires while maintaining a low center of gravity. Lower adjustable control arms with D2 bushings are included in this kit to fix pinion angles for optimal drive line geometry. To reduce noise, vibration, and harshness, the D2 bushing features a stiffer inner bearing material and a softer outer material. The D2 bushing is grease-free, with a lubricating lining impregnated into the internal bushing for quiet, maintenance-free operation. Rancho provides a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the components in this package.

One of the most cost-effective modifications I could have made. There was a significant gap in on-road and off-road performance. This configuration is recommended for anybody wishing to improve performance without breaking the budget. Is it the greatest setup for a rock smashing rig? No, but it is ideal for an entry-level jeep capable of tackling intermediate terrain and boulders. The springs are tall and supple, and the shocks are very well-damped. The springs have arrived, and they are still higher than expected, but they should calm down in a few months. I have stock springs and 2 inch budget boost pucks. These springs were 2 inches higher than the original ones. At 70 mph, I float over bumps, and in town, I scarcely feel the potholes.

When everything is snug, the WJ boasts surprisingly agile handling for an old-school solid axle front end. While parked in the driveway, the WJ does not exhibit the normal signs of a quarter-turn slop in the steering wheel. It does it faster, creating the sensation of bump-steer. With a quarter-turn of play at 60 mph, the WJ turns quickly when it eventually picks up the slack in the steering box, giving the impression that the rear end is coming around. Each steering box adjustment wears down fast, after a few hundred kilometers. I was concerned about binding the steering box after the third adjustment in roughly 2,000 miles and just replaced it. Of course, it might not be the steering box, but you seem to have changed practically everything else. As previously suggested, I would double-check the track bar just to be sure.

Clayton Off Road JK suspension lift kits are designed to provide a smooth ride on and off the road while yet keeping great handling qualities.

These are 100% bolt-on systems that can be installed using standard shop equipment. Our bolt-in 3 piece cross member is a major element of the new JK front long arm kit. The cross member bolts into the OEM place and has pockets for the forged 2.5 inch johnny joints, providing maximum ground clearance. This cross member is easily bolted in and may alternatively be welded in for more aggressive drivers. The center piece, like other Clayton Off Road cross members, is detachable, making gearbox changes straightforward and without affecting the suspension arms. The rear bolt on bracket was intended to accommodate four very long arms. This bracket may be mounted without removing the gas tank and secures to the frame rail with 8 bolts. For optimal strength and precision, the 3 piece cross member and rear frame brackets were created using the newest 3D Solid Works software, CNC laser cut, and CNC bent.

I own a 2002 Jeep WJ with a 2 liter engine "lift. I chose the Skyjacker Black Max shocks, which need B8516 (front) and B8544 (rear) (rear). Although the numbers on the box are accurate, the shock body is marked B8555CS-B (front) and B8558CS-B (back) (rear). Should I be concerned about the number on the shock or stick to what is written on the box? 0 votes Q I own a 2002 Jeep WJ with a 2 liter engine "lift. rshox12 said: Hey everyone, I'm looking for a 3 or 4 inch lift for under $1000. I could need as much information as possible since I was considering a complete traction raise with OME shocks. Click to enlarge... Rubicon Express is my choice. You may update as required without having to purchase a new lift. I paid $560 for a RE3.5 basic kit with Skyjacker Hydros. I've heard the OME shocks are fantastic, but I'm not convinced. I didn't want to spend too much money on shocks. It rides better than it did before. Skyjacker is now offering a $30 refund. Summitracing.com sold me mine.

Q: What is the difference between a lift and a leveling kit?

A: A leveling kit exists only for the purpose of correcting unequal suspension. These kits are typically 1-3 and just front or rear. Lift kits, on the other hand, fulfill many functions. They exist for aesthetics, performance, and to allow for bigger wheels. There are also combo lift and leveling systems available, which may be used to correct uneven suspension while simultaneously delivering a lift increase. When it comes to lift kits, these are some of our favorites.

BDS Suspension is owned by Fox Shocks, which implies that BDS may include high-quality shocks in their kits. We discovered that a set of Fox shocks delivers stability and control that ordinary bolt-on shocks can only dream about. To give the tiny TJ more handling, we bit the bullet and upgraded to stronger shocks in addition to the adjustable track bar. View all ten images View all ten images
